About the book
While Inspector William Fox and girlfriend Tracy Jordan cruised on his cigarette boat The Midnight Fox, a crackle of the police scanner informed him a body had washed up on a beach. Much to Tracy’s disapproval, William chose to investigate. The Montreal police investigator already on the scene discovered a note on the body intended for William’s friend and taekwondo master, Mr. Kim. He is certain the note was from his long-lost sister, Mi-Cha. Kidnapped, while still a child, and trapped in North Korea, Kim is convinced she is still alive and implores William to help get her home.

Sanctity of Freedom plunges RCMP Inspector Fox and FBI Special Agent Patrick Reilly into an investigation of a savage assassination of a Canadian diplomat and two Australian intelligent agents. Meanwhile, Kim and his old friends chase down leads to find his sister that point to Pyongyang, the North Korean leadership, and the shadowy operatives of Bureau 39 who skirt the NATO sanctions.

All of them get drawn into a murderous game of cat and mouse leading Mr. Kim to face the man who took his sister and William Fox to match wits with the cunning killer.

    Review:

Sanctity of Freedom by Peter Thomas Pontsa is a dark web of suspense and crime. For fans of Glenn Dyer, Charlie Donlea, and Mary Kubacia this is a must read! Peter Thomas Pontsa brings to life a multiple layered mystery of kidnapping and murder. Family and friends tied to each other and needing answers. The book has a James Bond like vibe with its source of operatives seeking answers in a very dangerous game of truth and seek. Deadly, dark, and action-packed this thriller has everything to keep readers on the edge. I also enjoyed how this novel has set North Korea as the evil threat versus always using China or Russia. The dialogue and action scenes are what propelled the speed in this read. The characters were very believable whether they were the good guys seeking the bad guys or the bad guys keeping their crimes under wraps. There was this strong sense of tension slowly building and a sense of doom hanging in the atmosphere of the book. It was perfect for this thriller. I was kept in suspense from the beginning which most novels do not have that kind of power. I love figuring things out as the plot unfolds. This is definitely that kind of book I love. Political, crime fighting, and intriguing this is a must read for all.
